[03|05|04] Government starts discussions about Global Cultural Forum
last Sunday arrangements to Mato Grosso do Sul participation at the Global Cultural Forum started with the opening of the Central Brazil Cultural Seminar, to happen at the Contemporary Art Museum (Marco) until Tuesday . The event is a Culture, Sports and Leisure Secretary and Mato Grosso do Sul Culture Foundation realization with the participation of cultural producer and Mato Grosso, Goiás, Federal district and Tocantins States culture managers.
The opening ceremony had the participation of Corumbá cururueiros, headed by Agripino Master. Several songs as "modas", cururu air and siriri were played with the "viola-de cocho" for an audience of approximately 200 people. Followed by the invitation to compose the table: Silvio Nicci, Culture, Sports and Leisure Secretary; Pedro Ortale, Mato Grosso do Sul Culture Foundation Director-President; Maria Helena Schuster Federal Government Communication Secretary Representative; Iara Pietricovsky Global Cultural Forum Representative; Benedito de Campos, Mato Grosso Culture Secretary and Sandro Ramos de Lima, Goiânia Municipal Culture Secretary.
"We have a rare opportunity to meet and discuss actions that can contribute to a start of a large cultural interchange between the Center West States region. The discussion and action proposals as well as regional public policies will with no doubt be one of the biggest contributions of this seminar to the Global Cultural Forum in São Paulo" stated Pedro Ortale, MS Culture Foundation Director-President during his opening speech.
The Central Brazil Cultural Seminar should propose by Tuesday a document to be handed to the Global Cultural Forum. "This is the moment we have to discuss crucial questions to the Center West culture development such as a better federal resources distribution and means to social communication democracy" reminded Sandro Ramos de Lima Goiânia Municipal Culture Secretary.
Iara Pitrocovsky Global Cultural Forum Representative said "Mato Grosso do Sul is an example to the rest of the country when proposing regionalized solutions for the cultural inclusion process. We have a big deficit with the population and this seminar will grant us strong contributions".
After the opening ceremony all participants attended to aerial acrobatics presentation with the group "Cia. Atroa de Artes", performances with the "República Cênica" theatrical group and Chalana de Prata musical show.
Central Brazil Cultural Seminar is on until Tuesday (May 5) at the Contemporary Art Museum (Marco), from 9 am to 5 pm. The event is opened to the public and inscription may be done in the premises. More information by the telephone (xx67) 318.6158.
