[04|05|004] Center West States wish joined cultural actions
Discussions during Central Brazil Seminar revealed different common points between Center West States region. The meeting began on Sunday at the Contemporary Art Museum (Marco) in Campo Grande and ended this afternoon. Mato Grosso do Sul, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Distrito Federal and Tocantins State Culture Managers, artists and cultural producers attended the event.
The program started on Monday (May 3) morning with the official Global Cultural Forum (GCF) presentation to be held in the City of São Paulo next July. Iara Pietricovsky, actress, anthropologist and GCF Director Counselling Member and Guilherme Reis, Federal Distric cultural producer, presented the introduction lecture. " I am honoured to participate to such a rich and singular event aiming to gather and approach cultural links between Central-West States region" , reminded Iara Pietricovsky.
"Culture in Central Brazil" workshop started afterwards with the participation of Silvio Nucci, Mato Grosso do Sul Culture, Sports and Leisure Secretary, Benedito Paulo de Campos, Mato Grosso Culture Secretary, Pedro Henrique Lopes Libório, Federal District Culture Secretary, Meire Maria Monteiro, Tocantins Cultural Foundation President and Agnaldo Caiado da Costa Freire, Goiás Culture Secretry representative.
Each manager gave in few words an outlook of their state actual cultural moment. A common point was the difficulty to proceed circulation projects and other long term actions. Silvio Nucci, Mato Grosso do Sul Culture, Sports and Leisure Secretary said that "Central West cultural integration will bring devise generation to the artistic and turistic sector". Meire Maria Monteiro, Tocantins Cultural Foundation President added declaring "the necessity of interchange to Center West strengthening and recognition from the rest of the country".
Campo Grande Dancing group Funk-se presentation intercalated morning activities. Afterwards "Central Brazil Cultural Identification and Integration" workshop took place with debaters: Dante Filho, journalist (Correio do Estado Journal - Campo Grande-MS), Eliel Benitez, Guarani Professor and Maria Amélia Assis Alves Crivelente, Doctor in History and UFMT Professor.
In the afternoon discussions were on the theme "Culture Economics" presented by Yacoff Sarkov, Cultural Marketing Consultant and intermediated by Nilson Rodrigues, Cultural Producer and Bonito Winter Festival Coordinator, and Angelo Arruda, architect and UFMS and Uniderp Professor. Yacoff highlighted the incentive laws importance but also supported a larger debate on resources, which could be better distributed within the country. The program ended with cultural presentations from Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso artists.
