O projeto PHOTO-ERÊ nasceu com a idéia de despertar o “olhar fotográfico” em crianças e adolescentes da comunidade-terreiro Ilê Axé Opô Afonjá, estimulando este olhar para a sua própria experiência sócio-cultural. Este trabalho esta sendo realizado através de oficinas, onde os alunos aprendem noções básicas de fotografia e troca de informações sobre as experiências vividas na comunidade.

O projeto-piloto atendeu inicialmente cerca de 15 pessoas, crianças e adolescentes, que moram ou estudam na comunidade. As aulas foram realizadas aos sábados e contaram com o monitoramento de dois membros da comunidade, Antônio Carlos e Naya Souza além da fotógrafa Carla Osório.

A Casa Via Magia apoia esta iniciativa que tem o intuito de despertar o interesse no público infanto-juvenil para a importância da cultura afro-brasileira, através da utilização da imagem. O ato de fotografar tem contribuído em muitas experiências comunitárias na formação da identidade sócio-cultural.
Através da fotografia, a criança explora o universo ao seu redor criando uma identificação com o espaço e o tempo vivido. O terreiro Ilê Axé Opô Afonjá nos permitiu uma vasta gama de assuntos que vieram chamar a atenção dessas crianças e jovens.

A fotografia foi introduzida em aulas práticas, onde as crianças aprenderam como fazer a sua própria “câmera” com latinhas de leite e como apreender a imagem através dela. Depois, como revelar o papel fotográfico num laboratório manual, montado dentro do terreiro.

O resultado final deste trabalho é uma exposição de fotos produzida por estes jovens fotógrafos, que trazem no olhar a sensibilidade dos futuros herdeiros do Axé.

Project Phto-Êre

The project PHOTO-ERÊ was inspired by the idea of awakening the “photographic eye” in children and adolescents in the terreiro community of Ilê Axé Opô Afonjá, stimulating. perspectives for the children’s own socio-cultural experience. This work was accomplished through workshops, where the students learned basic notions of photography and shared information about the experiences the have in the community, as well as the importance of Afro-Brazilian culture. The act of photographing has contributed to many community experiences in the formation of socio-cultural identity.

Through photography, a child explores the universe around him/her forging an identification with the space and time they live in. The Ilê Axé Opô Afonjá terreiro permitted us a vast range of subject matter to attract the attention of these children and youth.

The pilot project began with about 15 people, children and adolescents, who live or study in the community. The classes were held on Saturdays and mentored by two members of the community Antônio Carlos and Naya Souza, as well as photographer Carla Osório.

Photography was introduced in practical classes, where the children learned how to make their own “camera” with milk cans and learned how to capture an image with it. Afterwards they learned how to process photographic paper in a manual laboratory set up inside of the terreiro.

The final result of this work is an exposition of photos produced by these young photographers that bring to view the sensitivity of the future inheritors of the terreiro.
