VOLPONE

Adaptação de Cláudio Simões para o texto do inglês Ben Jonson, trata do cinismo deslavado e do caráter aproveitador de Volpone, velho que despreza os valores morais e utiliza-se de recursos pouco ortodoxos para conseguir ficar ainda mais rico. Com Frank Menezes, consagrado ator baiano por peças como Quem Matou Maria Helena e A Bofetada, interpretando o personagem título, a peça prima por elenco de forte veia cômica: Zeca de Abreu, Fafá Menezes e Edmilson Barros, entre outros. Dirigida por Fernando Guerreiro, esta é a sexta montagem do Núcleo de Teatro do TCA, criado pelo diretor da casa, Theodomiro Queiroz, visando contribuir ainda mais com o amadurecimento da classe teatral da Bahia. É uma peça sobre poder, cobiça, sedução, luxúria e todas essas coisas da vida.

Adapted by Cláudio Simões for the text by English Ben Jonson, the piece reveals the unbridled cynicism and greedy character of Volpone, an old man who despises moral values and uses sly tricks to become even more rich. With Frank Menezes, consecrated Bahian actor from plays such as Quem Matou Maria Helena (Who Killed Maria Helena) and A Bofetada (The Slap), interpreting the title character, the play shines for its highly comic cast including Zeca de Abreu, Fafá Menezes and Edmilson Barros, among others. Directed by Fernando Guerreiro, this is the sixth staging by the Núcleo de Teatro of TCA, created by the director of the establishment, Theodomiro Queiroz, further contributing to the maturation of the theatrical culture of Bahia. It is a play about power, greed, seduction, luxury and all these things of life.
