Welcome to the III Cultural Market. It is a great joy for us to welcome people and organizations of such distinct origins, as well as so many artists of different languages. It is going to allow and celebrate the mixing of many diverse cultures.

However, we hope that beyond the celebration we will find the time to reflect upon the social realities and cultural perspectives to these worlds in conflict.

We would like to point towards new directions of cooperation between different peoples and cultures, in the hope of finding a peaceful coexistence within their diversity.

More than answers we pose many questions: How can we stimulate creativity and the surging of new talents? How can we create solid systems of cooperation based on values that include ethics and solidarity? How may we create spaces for the development of youth and the recognition of their work?

We believe that each of us has a mission to fulfill in this historic moment. Thus we hope that while we are here together at this III Culturarl Market we may strengthen a fraternal spirit which is so crucial to the future of our planet.

And it is with this feeling that we would like to welcome the Strictly Mundial 2001, that, this year, joins the Cultural Market extending our network of cooperation.

We offer our sincere thanks to all those who contributed towards this project: the various partners, organizations and individuals who joined forces in building this event. We especially wish to thank the artists who believed in, and contributed to, the success of this III Cultural Market.
