In six days, there will be more than 100 performances, divided into Artistic Diplays – 12 daily – and Special Projects, in the principal theaters of the city and Pelourinho squares. In addition, there will be conferences, workshops and a business networking market called FALA. More than 100 thousand daily visitors are expected at Cultural Market 2005 events.

In addition to the hosting events in many of the longstanding venues, for the first time the Cultural Market will go to other city neighborhoods and squares to encourage and promote local communities. Federação, Liberdade, Itapagipe Peninsula, Itapuã e Ferroviário Suburb will be part of the Market circuit, and will be presenting their masters and artists.

This special project, The Neighborhood Markets, along with the Masters of Popular Culture project, will honor the work of popular tradition masters every night at the TCA. In a display of great collective effort, the Market engages the city, and is embraced by institutions and people that guarantee its sustainability. Collective responsibility, this is the message and the theme of this VI Cultural Market. This is the meaning of the word UBUNTU: “I am because you exist”.
