Linsey
Pollack: you can expect the unexpected
By Luciano Mattos
Linsey Pollack is an Australian musician, but,
principally, he is the inventor of uncommon wind
instruments. He constructs instruments inspired
mainly on bagpipes from Eastern Europe- called
Gaidas in Macedonia, where he lived for eight
months during the 1970s. But what is particularly
novel is that the instruments are disposable,
made of anything you might imagine: carrots, cans,
boxes, chairs, from brooms to rubber gloves. His
presentations overcome language and cultural barriers. |
