The PopulAction Cultural Festival forms part of the Cultural Foundation’s projects, which are integrated in the Mercado Cultural and include: a presentation by the Castro Alves Theater Ballet Company at the opening of the VI Mercado;the presence of Axé Walk groups in the FALA opening procession; the play “Hamlet” by the Castro Alves Theater company; participation of the Bahian Symphony Orchestra Camerata in the Erudite Cultures Project and the performance “Art”, which originally formed part of the Cultural Circle project.

Choreographies are constructed through a story based on a pastoral dance,
which together with the set design and costumes, rebuild the ritualistic
imaginary of popular regional displays. Directed by Master King.

Sing and Sing Again a Children’s Musical (Palafitas Cantantes choir)
93 This musical performance, coordinated by Raiden, is inspired by children’s
popular imaginary songs: children’s games, marches, rhymes and verses
from rounds. The choral group comprises children aged between nine and
twelve from the Santa Luzia UCP.
